If you like printmaking... 100 Prints

http://marissaneave.com/posterous/100P09_logo.pos.jpg

Which reminds me...

Open Studio, a printmaking studio and gallery in Toronto (in the same building that I work in) hosts an annual fundraiser, 100 Prints, and this year it'll be held at the Palais Royale in Toronto. I went to this fundraiser once when I was younger -- my aunt and uncle had an extra ticket. When you buy a ticket, you get a print!

Tickets are $325 and you can bring a guest. It's a pretty affordable way to get your hands on a great piece of original, contemporary art! The event is on May 13th.

Mark Bovey

For now I'm checking out the work by some of the artists who are in the Sense of Place exhibition, but I'll branch out once I'm through the list.

Here's a piece by Mark Bovey. He has a really great website -- click to see lots more.

Libby Hague / Printmaking

I love this woodcut by Libby Hague that I saw in an Akimbo email broadcast this morning. It's part of an exhibition in Toronto that starts today. I think I'll be posting lots of printmaking images today!
